I think I found quilting heaven ! The camp and the countryside were abundant with lilacs that scented the air and provided inspiration for all the quilt retreaters.
What can I say about a boss who provides you this delicious room, fluffs your pillows and makes sure that the most yummy coffee is served each morning. And NO you cannot have my job!!!
For me the retreat is ALL about friendships. Marie and I are basking in the joy of first time Grandmotherhood.
I am sure the other campers were rolling their eyes at times, but they looked at our baby photo books, shared their own charming stories about their grandchildren, and let us go on and on about the happiness in our lives!
Here is "Super Boss" with my two table mates Cheryl ( Miss Polka Dot) and Sue. We shared lots of chocolate and LOTS of laughs. It was a love fest of creativity and encouragement to finish projects ( and start some new ones).
How darling is this tablerunner that Cheryl gifted me with? I love it Cheryl and I love YOU for sharing it with me!!!
Look close....Polka Dots of course and my all time favorite fabric line. I just look at it over and over again and just smile and sigh.
Here is that fabric line again...tempting me to stop hoarding my stash of Sweet and Swell and get a cutting!!!
Yes...it is all about the friendships. Those that endure and sustain us. Cheryl began this project with her dear quilting friend who now sadly has passed away. It took some time for Cheryl to want to work on this again, but she bravely pieced it all together.
There is MUCH more to share, and I will post about it tomorrow. I hope you will enjoy coming along on an Eleanor Burns quilting retreat. It was Sew much fun.
