I was SEW inspired!!!!

Mile after mile, state after state, I found many quilt inspired stops, and Jim was kind enough to allow my obsession!!!! Remember to click on any photo to see all the details!
This small Nebraska town had quilts displayed everywhere....

There were shops that were destined to have me stop.....

.....and anytime I can combine my heritage and a cute shop, you know it is a must on the agenda!!

This cute shop in Pella, Iowa not only had Dutch inspired patterns.....

....but also an area where you could create your own Dutch costumes.

The Amana colonies were full of darling shops.
This one had an abundance of antique quilts on display....

...which inspired me greatly, but they also had a darling shop on the second floor. I loved this shop!!!!

Not far from where we had our giant breakfast was this award winning shop. It is housed in an old granary.
While the building was old, the shop was both contemporary and timeless. Friendly, well merchandised and lots of fun.

I love shops that are housed in darling homes, and this was one of the best.

This shop was full of Pearl Louise designs.....

....because it is owned by Pearl Louise. The staff was friendly and helpful, which is always a huge plus for me.

If I had to pick a favorite stop it would have to be this shop in Bountiful. Not only did I want to make each and every quilt displayed, but the staff made me feel right at home. Oh the trouble I would be in if this shop was down the road....but they did tell me they would ship!!!!

They are mailing me this pattern.....baby quilts for boys and girls. How could I refuse????

This one came home with me.....can't wait to get cutting!!!

Another cute shop in Utah.....part of a sweet village of antique buildings filled with lots to enjoy.

How cute is this?????

This kit came home with me....I am a sucker for anything from Urban Chiks.

The cuteness continues...this shop is in St. George Utah.

There were great displays and some snacks to enjoy while you shopped

A full room of baby inspired projects....I was in love!!!

This project came home with me too.....Clare I see a dolly dress quilt in your future.

As we got closer to home, we made a final lunch stop in Temeculla. It just so happened to be across from "Quilter's Coop". Oh how I LOVE that shop and somehow it didn't seem nearly so hard to be home again!!!

.......and even more so because I brought home lots to keep me busy!!! Thanks for joining us on our fun vacation. I think this retirement thing is going to work out just fine. Now back to the sewing room. It is SEW nice to be home again.

Oh my, Anne. It is easy to see why you were inspired. Those are some great quilt shops. I know you must have enjoyed the Dutch ones.
You sure brought home some great projects. Can't wait to see some of them finished.
Were you only gone 2 weeks. How in the world did you do and see so much in two weeks. Great vacation.

Thank you for your kind words today! I'm so glad you stopped by so I could find your wonderful blog. I am a bit envious of your wonderful trip. So many fun places to visit. I would love to know the name of the quilt pattern you purchased, the one with the pinwheels and the appliqued flowers. I think it would work well with my purchase of flower sugar II fabrics. So fun!

There you are! You're killing me with this post, btw. I live in Utah and see cute shops all the time, but now I'm in the mood to go out and spend money at them. Nuts!

I've checked all my email accounts and I must have given you a bad address (nice). I'll put your prize in the mail today if you can give me an address. Here's my personal account: brianini@comcast.net. Thanks for being so patient!
