Falling Behind....

When my own MOM tells me that I haven't posted for awhile I know it is time to get on top of it!!!!
I think the expression is " the hurrieder I go, the behinder I get". Life has kept me running at full throttle, but I finally got a bit of Fall decorating to remind me of the season.

The porch is ready to welcome the Trick or Treaters.....

The table is set to remind us of the blessings of harvest time.....

The living room is cozy and welcoming....

...and the family room is all prepared too. Now to find that quiet time for a cup of hot apple cider and maybe some apple crisp to enjoy with it!!!

Our sweet baby Clare can now walk around her playpen barely holding on ( oh my) and even gives sweet waves when you ask.

And our sweet Momma to be is showing her little "pumpkin" is growing quite nicely. I love this season.....and feeling more blessed than ever. I hope you are all feeling much of the same.

What a week.....

It was quite a week.....busy, and full of ups and downs. I did a LOT of babysitting, taught one of my marathon twelve hour classes and came down with a NASTY bout of the flu.

Take my advice....get that flu shot. And I will share a few pictures of the better part of my week!!!!

Above is a picture of Laurie, who we affectionately nicknamed "Fast Laurie". She gets more projects completed than is humanly possible...and she is always a huge inspiration for me.

Nancy is one of my brand new students and bravely signed up for our all day fun. She is doing great....but you can see that by her beautiful table-runner.

Kathy is my dear friend and I didn't realize she had never come to an all day class. I think we have her convinced she needs to do this again!!!

Tiffany has a darling company she created with her daughter. It is called "Breakfast for Dinner". I love that!!! I love the cute hats she makes too. I wish her LOTS of success!!!

I did a little demo for the girls on a simple and fun apron....will make great gifts for Christmas. Tiffany made a couple and they were just adorable.

Lisa always creates wonderful art quilts based on blocks she has her family and closest friends make when they go to camp. What a great memory....what a great quilt.

Rose continued working on her quilt...and it is finished!!! Quite an accomplishment with LOTS of points to match ( oh my).

Sharon makes the cutest and sweetest baby quilts. She even shared her minkie scraps with me....thinking they will become cute and soft baby blocks!!!

Chris is working on the most fun project....taking apart her son's baby quilt and recreating the salvageable blocks into a new project. How clever....how cute!!!!

.....and speaking of babies ( and CUTE) here is our "growing much to fast" Clare in her pumpkin hat that my Mom made.
Keeping fingers crossed that the week ahead will be a better one.....with no more flu germs to take me down. Trust me on this one....get that shot!!!!

Continuing to purge.....

It is not easy to pick and choose which fabrics to save and which to donate. But after a VERY time consuming amount of time, I have narrowed down my stash to what can fit in my new Expedit ( and one tub ....not proud of that, but I just have a hard time letting go)!!!!

There are lots of books too......quilters can sure become collectors of TOOO much stuff!!!!

I found WAY to many projects that I have never finished....better get moving on this one. Word is out that Santa will be filling his sleigh in no time!!!

And since I was in such a Christmas mode ( and since I felt I deserved a treat for all my hard work) I bought this DARLING quilt book.

Best part is....you can use up LOTS of scraps, so I have been cutting lots of greens into squares, and pulling out more stash for the applique.

But then my designer gene kicked in and I thought "why not a Fall version"....so I have been cutting lots of my Fall stash too. Instead of stockings I am picturing Pumpkins and Fall leaves.
So easy to pick and choose my fabrics now that I have them in orderly cubbies!!!!

SEW far there has only been one pumpkin on my mind....so I made her a cute jumper. Did I mention that she has two bottom teeth and actually DOES look a bit like a pumpkin.
She is eating solid foods too...so I made a couple of "towel bibs with applique". She is one messy eater...but so darn cute.

I am hoping the cooler weather and bit of rain puts me into a Fall decorating mode. Still have seashells and sail boats decorating my porch...guess I refuse to believe that summer really is over!!!!

First thing this morning.....

I woke up to this view as I sipped my morning coffee....it is going to be a GOOD day. I hope yours is too!!!!
