Big Girl Sewing ....

I have wanted to make "Amy Butlers Weekender Bag" ever since I saw it on this blog post.

I fell in love...and then deep fear.
Everyone writes about how TOUGH it is to make...and they are sort of right.

But I used PINTEREST to keep track of ALL the tips and hint.  It helped LOTS!!!!

As in all things...you just have to take it step by step.

I did the apple appliqué in honor of our FAVORITE destination.

Then I put a bird on the back because "Road Trips" make me feel free as a bird!!!!

I love my bag, and I LOVE that I survived a 30" zipper and all that piping.
I learned LOTS and hope it will be my companion on lots of fun trips.

One more sweet thing....the first dress I have made for our newest Granddaugther to be.

I used El's new fabric line, which is just as sweet as our baby is sure to be!!!!

I am off to use my new bag for the first time.
When I come back I will share the most creative sewing project ever!!!!

I love your bag. I saw your pins on Pinterest and thought you might be planning one. It is adorable and sew perfect for your Road Trips. And of course the dress for your new little one is precious.
We may be close to your favorite destination this spring. I'll let you know as soon as I know...
