The First Day of 2010.....

...began the way each New Year should. Oma made us the Dutch treat known as Oliebollen, and were they ever delicious!!!
Oliebollen are a fritter filled with raisins and deep fried to perfection.
As they drain, you sprinkle with powdered sugar,

....and a little extra powdered sugar never hurts!

What a lovely and sweet way to begin the new decade.....

....and speaking of sweet treats, we went to see this wonderful movie this afternoon. I highly recommend it, and of course having an Oliebollen too. It helps if you have a very cute Oma to bake them for you!!!
So far 2010 is turning out just wonderful. I hope the same for you.

Hi, just popped by to visit - the fritters look mouth-watering good! I have a friend here in Tennessee who is originally from the Netherlands - her name is Annelies too!
