Playing Dolls....

When I was a little girl I could play with dolls endlessly. I didn't care if it was Barbie, Betsy Wetsy or my lovely Madame Alexander dolls. Just give me a doll, some cute clothes to dress them in and I was in playtime heaven.

This weekend there was lots of fun "Girl Time". We made an appt. for facials ( such a fun luxury when we can make it happen), time to catch up on "chick flick" movies and of course some shopping was on the agenda!
I tried to interest my little doll Clare in the joy of shoe shopping, but you can see the big response!

Her Mom and Auntie had more success. Mommy is lovely in her new Anthro outfit and Meg was equally happy with the things she found.

But I am happiest when I can create something fun for my sweet baby doll. With a lot of inspiration from Blogland, I sewed a fun little sundress for Clare.
With criss cross straps that puts the bow to the front or back, this can grow from baby dress to toddler top thanks to the ease of the shirring. Lots of fun to sew too!

But every girl knows that it is the accessories that make the outfit, so I had to make a sunhat ( for Clare's very sensitive skin) and a hair-bow with matching flower for when the hat alone will just not do.
I think you can guess how much fun I am having.....but back to the sewing room, where a cute pair of shoes is a must for summer shopping. I hope you are all having SEW much fun too. Thanks for letting this Oma go on and on about the JOY in my life!!!
