Showered with Blessings.....

From the front door flowers that had "It's a Boy" ribbons.....

To the delicious and sweet cake, it was a day to honor and.......

Shower a sweet Mom to be with lots of love and an abundance of presents!!!

Jill and my dear friend Linda organized the elegant and fun day. The tables were set with quotes about Motherhood, and the most delicious array of goodies to enjoy.

It was a cozy time for Meghan's friends and family to gather....

to enjoy tasty treats and....

....an abundance of gourmet dishes.

Oma made her handmade chocolates in the shape of baby buggies and booties for everyone to take home as a remembrance of a very special day.

There were so many gifts....many of them made by hand and given from the heart. Oma made the most intricate baby blanket sure to make Donovan cuddly on his dedication day.

I am sure you guessed that I made a quilt....with an ocean theme to decorate Donovan's beach themed nursery.

Cousin Jacquie continued the tradition of a hand made blanket ( just gorgeous).

...and Linda made a crocheted blanket so that Donovan's Mommy has lots of choices to keep her baby boy cozy and warm.

Jill ( with her year of Mom experience) provided all of the essentials for the Mom to be.

....and her sweet friend Kristen gave a shout out to Meghan and Dustin's alma mater!!!!

It was a time of great joy and now our sweet Mom to be, and two excited Grandmothers count the days to Donovan's arrival. We couldn't be happier.....we couldn't feel more blessed.

Camp Cedar Glen gives us all a chance to meet again....renew friendships and encourage creativity.

It is always a HUGE pleasure to see my dear friend Cheryl....known to the blog world as "Miss Polka Dot and Ric Rac" !!!!

Anne is another sweet friend that comes each year and brings along her Tennessee charm and an endless amount of beautiful quilts to inspire.

Sew.... take a peek at some of the lovely quilts made at camp, and waving a BIG hello to all the dear friends I made at El's Quilt Camp!!!!

Can't wait til May....when we get to do it all again!!!!!

Bear's Paw Ranch....

Eleanor lives in a beautiful log cabin home in Julian California. It is a small mountain community, and her home overlooks some gorgeous views of the woods.

A few of the staff are lucky enough to get to stay at the ranch while we spend our days teaching at the camp. It means cozy nights to relax and knit. It is always a joy to be there.

Here is El welcoming the campers to her "tea" party. I will share more pics of that in another post.

I hope you will enjoy the following....pictures of El's Fall collection of quilts which display beautifully against her log cabin walls.

A guest room....
.

My cozy room......

A very pretty tablerunner on display in the dining room.

A log cabin for the log cabin!!!!!

Summer's Porch quilt pattern done in Fall colors.....

My dear friend Marty made this quilt....and I was deeply touched to see it displayed in El's home. We all miss Marty so much.

A bear for the ranch.....so very cute. Next we visit the tea party, where I find out that now I am a professional caterer!!!!

A Camping we did go.....

So do you want to know what it is like to go to camp with Eleanor Burns???? Well, first off you need to know that El has everyone laughing at her CRAZY antics!!!!

We have a wonderful mini Quilt in a Day shop so everyone can buy things they need ( and I am sure things they really don't need, but can't live without)!!!!

The atmosphere is so much fun, that even the camp staff want to dress up in official garb. By the way....Josh is not only a cutie pie, but this guy can COOK!!!!!

But mostly it is about the sisterhood of quilting ( and Kathy and Anne really are sisters)!!!!

It is about Mom's and daughters who attend each year.....we had a FULL house this camp and it was so much fun!!!

There is the delicious and relaxing tea party ( where we also serve wine) ......and El shares her wonderful home and sewing studio.

It is also about those of us who work together and enjoy the chance to catch up with each others lives....while we teach and quilt along with the students.

I guess it is ALL about the feeling of family and I still have LOTS to share. I will post about quilts, students and more dish about El's lovely log cabin home.

I hope you will enjoy!!!

A Match Made in Heaven.....

No...I am not talking about perfectly matched seams.

I am not even talking about Jim and I ....although my husband is a HUGE blessing in my life.

The match made in Heaven are our neighbors Linda and Denny. How many people can boast about a neighbor who LOVES to quilt and that her husband happens to LOVE photography.

Which means that our husbands like to hang out together and so do Linda and I!!!!

They are huge fans of that Apple Farm too....imagine that. The boys just happened to have a photo seminar in the area and Linda and I decided to turn this delightful room into a sewing retreat.

This cute area was turned into this......

With a lobby that provides tea, coffee, fresh apple cider ( and to die for cookies), a waterwheel positioned right by the window that brought us the calming sound of running water.....

....and a stash of our favorite food groups represented, we were in sewing Heaven!!!!

The floor became our design wall.

With hours of time to do nothing but sew ( with breaks for shopping....for more fabric of course) we completed these adorable Fall quilt projects. This is my quilt....

....and this is Linda's. Both are SEW adorable.

We are both in the mode of de-stashing, so our scraps were turned into these tablerunners.

It was the BEST retreat...and speaking of retreats, I am packing my bags again. I leave tomorrow for a week with Eleanor Burns and the Quilt in A Day girls.

That means I will be coming home with more pictures, and lots of stories to share. Hugs for all of you til then. XXX
