In Remembrance......

God bless those that serve, and have served our country.

We are blessed to live where you have insured our freedom.

You have proved that it is the home of the true and the brave.

What do you call.....

.....four days of doing nothing but sewing???? Quilt camp of course, but I call it GLORIOUS!!!!!

Check out some of the quilts the students finished. Amazing how much you can accomplish when someone else does all the cooking and there are NO interruptions!!!!!

Enjoy

Thirty Six Years Later....

Jim and I just celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary !!! We thought a fun trip to the Central Coast would be a great way to treat ourselves....and we brought along some of our favorite people.

Our trip began with the most delicious Danish pancakes in Solvang.

Home sweet Apple Farm.....

.....where our darling niece Brianne came to visit.

We took a lovely day to visit the gardens of Cambria,

....always scenic, and

....always inspiring.

Our dear friends Linda and Denny joined us in a delicious picnic lunch.

We followed that with a relaxing country drive where we found fields and fields of wild sweet peas.

Not only did it look beautiful....but it smelled like heaven!!!!

Thirty six years ago we were youngsters enjoying a wedding cake. Now we are old and wise and a bannana split at the Maddonna Inn was the joyous way to end a very special day.

Here is to many more years together to share in the best things in life!!!

Are Crafting Oma's a good thing?????

Having an Oma who loves to sew and knit might be a blessing....or a curse!!!!

I bribed Clare with lots of grapes so I could take a few pics of her styling the new dress I made her.

Hmmmm....maybe she was not quite sure about the dress, but she sure loved her grapes!!!!

This Oma thought she looked like a princess....but then she ALWAYS looks like a princess to me.

Not to be left out....I knitted this hat for our sweet Donovan.

His Mommy thinks he looks like an owl. Make that a VERY cute owl!!!!

Does Anyone Remember.....

.....when my blog used to focus on quilting projects??? There was a time when I was SEW productive!!!

In fact so much so that I was even featured on a blog that I used to check often because they highlighted all the COOL quilt blogs.

Then one day I checked and I was no longer on her list!!! Oh well, my priorities have changed a lot.

But I am still sewing.....mostly for that adorable little girl that is growing much to fast.

I feel like Clare influences my own mini version of "Project Runway". Check out the details of ladybug covered buttons and shirred back.

While I used to go to quilt shops to buy fabrics for all of my dream projects, now I check out what will be cute for little dresses.

And in case you wonder about my other sweet Grandbaby....I bought LOTS of this whale fabric to make things for him too!!!!

When Meghan was a bitty girl I could hardly find time to clean house and keep the garden tidy.

While I did sew a few things, I guess my creative spirit was on hold for this glorious time in my life!!!

I am having the time of my life....and I even make sure that the hangers are cute too ( available at Michaels).

SEW.....my blog may be lacking in quilts, but I keep this journey of Grandmotherhood as a reminder of what is most important in my life.

I know these days will go quickly, and I intend to cherish them to the utmost.

After all, there will be ( God willing) lots of time to make quilts once again.

In the meantime I am creating less quilts....but more memories!!!!
